It is a slight hunger suppressant, but after a while you'll get lazier due to the smoking making you unfit as you get out of breath more. I started smoking 5 years ago, my weights is a constant 10stone, size14/16 as I never lost my pregnancy weight cos I'm too tired to go out from smoking. I'm at home looking after the children, and eat one main meal a day. My lack of energy from smoking is what is keeping me from being a size 10/12!!
So although it's a slight suppressant, it doesn't help that you don't have energy to exercise. Tell your mate they don't know what they're talking about.

Nicotine is a slight stimulant. Also when people quit smoking, many times they will gain weight. These are two common reasons why people believe that smoking causes weight loss.

In reality, even if it did cause a slight weight loss, the dangers of smoking far outweigh and benefit it may provide for one to lose weight.

The smoke will kill the taste buds in your mouth. Therefore food wont taste as good as it once did, which might make you not want to eat as much, and make you loose weight.

But...
When you quite, you will get the taste buds back, and will eat more
and if you start smoking you will damage your lungs which wont ever get better.

Not only does it kill hormones, it kills people too. Smoking is a very foolish way to lose weight, and very dangerous. The best way to lose weight is to excercise regularly and watch what you eat.

You don't start smoking to loose weight. If you are a smoker and you quit, you'll gain weight. A healthy diet and exercise would be the best way to loose weight.

Im no expert so dont really know, but thinking about it, nearly all my mates that smoke are overweight, so doubt it. Even if it did, its not worth the money or your health that you would lose.

Not really, some folks lose weight if they quit smoking and some gain.
Smoking drains vitamins, folks love a cigarette after meals.

No i dont think it does as it deadens the tastebuds in your mouth so therefore you are likely to eat more rich salty foods! A double baddie. If you haven't started dont!

Not really, what it does is to decrease appetite, so you don't eat as much as before.If you really want to lose weight, I would recommended you to see your G.P. because there are drugs that can help you lose weight. Smoking is harmful to your health!
