Of course they DO! The reason being that it is ALL a popularity contest!
There are NO MINIMUM requirements other than age and citizenship to even become The President.
They have to wear the right color tie to please the group that they are addressing and SPIN the issues in a way that the group can support and thus write big checks.
I would be interested to see how many of them have actually done ANYTHING besides being a politician; the rich mans/woman's WELFARE!
Wouldn't it be interesting if just ONE of them just said what they really thought and were actually able to justify it to multiple cross-sections of the population?
It just isn't possible to get elected that way! That is where the term "Politically Correct" came from.

I am convinced they are a bunch of idiots, who hire consultants to make them appear intelligent.

they don't usually use the term "image consultant" but they do hire advisors for this sort of thing
