- Community Service
- Solid Writing Skills
- Solid Critical Thinking/Reasoning Skills
- Good SAT/ACT scores
- Dual enrollment in HS and community college (this will also help build a college-level academic "track record" for you that can be used to prove you are college material)
- Good Work Experience
- Good Networking Skills/Professional Acquaintances (good professionals can write good letters of recommendation for you and speak to your level of intelligence/dedication/etc)
- HS sports/extracurricular activities
- Special talents (foreign language, musical, cultural, etc)
- Community involvement
- Good grades & GPA (at least 3.0, preferably 3.5)
- AP classes

So much! Good luck

Write a book. Do original research, perhaps publish it. Release a CD. Start your own business or non-profit. Any of these things would make you a excellent student for most colleges. But it takes a lot of work to stand out from the crowd.

Do a whole lot of community service. Colleges really like that.
