Depends on how many you are teaching and what material you want to cover....

One I did with 4th graders is taking the Stations and putting them in plastic eggs and hiding them around the church ( each team had a different color) they had to find the eggs, then put the Stations in the right order.

With 7th graders, we took the traditional stations and they wrote their own meditations and prayers, then presented them as living stations to the rest of the grades....it was good enough they did them Good Friday, too.

Another game I use is Jerusalem Squares. ( Like Hollywood Squares) Again, you need enough people, but this is a good one to have parents in on....the great thing is if a square doesn't know the answer-or even if they do- they can bluff. This is really fun if you get a good center square- like the pastor. Is he bluffing?

Lent is nothing more than a man-made systematic game. Lent is worthless and pointless. Here's a better game. Read the 2nd chapter verses 2:13-19 of Colossians and try to determine the point Paul is trying to make. Also remember that Paul is the Lord's mouthpiece. Teach your 5th graders that lent has no place in the current dispensation.

Saved by His grace, by His faith,

Rev. Johnny
