It could always be 'the island' but I don't think it's going to be that easy. Now that he knows he is going to die, there's the possibility that the stress will get to him and there might still be some heroin left hidden around for an overdose.

Then there is the notion that 'the others' may still yet come back for Claire's baby and Charlie will die to protect her.

Carl seems kinda creepy in a way and after the behavior modification thing, he could either be programmed to attack them, or he could simply snap.

Thank god none of the dead have risen up as zombies, or that there is a secret UFO base on the island and Charlie gets abducted by aliens or eaten by Zombie Eko or Zombie Anna Lucia :)

Then again, Jack's dad's body has always been missing, so maybe the island has brought him back to life just as it healed Locke and Rose.

Looks like he will. I read an article about the writers. They said they are already looking to end the show and not drag it out too long. I don't want it to end but I am ready for some answers about the island and the whys of the Others. Since they are thinking toward the end I think Charlie might die....but then again he might not.
