Yes. It is possible. In a different dimension.

Western psychology speaks of one system called
"collective unconscious". There are actualy three such
systems. In Yoga terminology of Patanjali, they are
known as Adhi Atmika system (human collective psychic
energy), Adhi Daivika (higher collective psychic
energy) and Adhi Bhoutika (lower collective psychic
energy). Higher collective psychic energy system is
connected with the influence of planets and other
celestial objects. Belief in astrology is universal,
all races of the world believe it. Lower collective
psychic energy system deals with the influence of
Elements of creation like Earth, Water, Air, and Fire
and all beings which are lower than humans.

Activities like adopting a soldier; working with the
elderly, or the homeless or the children or other do
not involve much of your intellectual capabilities -
your interactions are classified under Adhi Bhoutika
system. Sympathy towards fellow beings is called
Bhootha Daya. Many persons contrubute towards
good things like these.

'Teaching is the greatest thing we humans can do to
make the world a better place'. Yes. The Hinduism also
says the same thing. In this activity, you can use your
intellectual capabilities - your interactions are
classified under Adhi Atmika system. Relatively smaller
number of persons contribute towards this.

Meditation and Yoga are normally thought give
improvements on personal level. But if you understand
the above three systems, your efforts will work towards
pacifying the Adhi Daivika system. Very few persons
contribute towarsds these things. This is where the
best of the personal interests help to achieve unity in
the world.

Don't you want to become one among them.

Who says "unity" is the end-all-be-all of goals? There are so many witless, characterless, useless people on this planet that I would rather be united with a group of litter-trained cats. Furthermore, if everyone took care of themselves & their progeny, then the rest of us wouldn't need to pay confiscatory taxes to support them. I think that until you can look out for yourself, you have no business telling other people to look out for each other. The Bible says that he who fails to take care of his own household is worse than an unbeliever. I'm in no position to argue with the Almighty.
