I would use saline drops first, they are gentle and can be used as often as needed. Some people use a nasal aspirator, but I've found that my daughter HATES it and it isn't always worth the trouble. Sometimes if I can see the congestion up her nose I use it, but usually the saline does the trick by loosening the mucus up there.
We also have a warm mist humidifier that we use in our bedroom at night. Since the winter air is drying, it's a good thing for all of us, including her. Hope that helps!

All you can do for a little baby is saline drops and the nasal aspirator (the bulb). just a drop then suck the boogers out. Keep her elevated and use a cool mist humidifier. Try to vacuum and avoid perfumes and stuff that might irritate her more. Don't use any other medications. That tylenol cold and flu for infants has been on the news lately for causing infant emergency room visits and even deaths.

Run a humidifier, use a nasal aspirator, have her sleep with her head elevated, feed often and you can even give her a little water in a bottle to help hydrate her and clear her nose.
I never used this, but my ped said I could use Little Noses saline drops (the nonmedicated kind) with a nasal aspirator to help break up the congestion.

ok here is a trick i used and it has worked for my son and i actually showed two other moms how to do it and they swear by it now. Do you still have the syringe they gave you from the hospital? If so make sure it is really clean. then sit down with your legs straight out in front of you and put the baby in between your legs with the baby's head closer to you. if the baby squirms alot lay the arms under your legs. put the syringe in and suck it out make sure you have it squeezed before you put it in the nose. for some reason that way gives you acess to the nostril passage more. trust me it works my son has been a very sickly baby since birth and he is now 20 months old and it works and i get so much gunk out each time. good luck i know its hard to see them sick. be patient. god bless

there are nose sucker things at the pharmacy but they only work when they are small and will stay still you can try that the other thing is you can mix warm water and salt to make a saline or just go buy saline drops for babies and put a drop up their nose and it should help break trough or dry the nose up a little

saline drops work well to loosen the mucus, then use a nasal aspirator to suck it out. Trust me she will learn to hate this real quick. My husband (who worked in pediatrics) usually holds one nostril closed while he sucks the other one out. Don't do this too much because you can irritate the nasal passages. If she is older than 3mo you can use a vapor plug for her room. I recently used it for my 6mo old and the vapors really helped him sleep through the night. You can use the vapor bath too if she is older than 3mo.
Please avoid any medications unless prescribed by your doctor, they have been known to be very dangerous to babies.

when my son was a baby i toke him to the doctor and they gave me saline water and a nasal asperator. you put a drop of the solution in each nose and the rub it in. that will losen the stuff that is in there and then you can easily suck it out with the asperator.
if it continues i would take the little one to the doctor and they can remove it there quicker and easier. good luck

Call your doctor your baby could have R.S.V. especially around this year. My four month old son was congested and I took him to the doctor to check him out. She said the congested had got in to his lungs cause hes so young. She had him tested for R.S.V and turned out he had it. Now he's on breathing treatments. My doctor also said R.S.V. is going around real heavy this year.

In addition to what everyone else said, saline drops help break up mucus. It's totally safe since all it is is a little bit of salt in sterile water. All you do is hold it up to her nostril and let it drip a little bit in. Do NOT spray it!
