First I would like to say that black people are not the only ones who are loud. New Yorkers are extremely loud in all races. And so are many southerners that I've met. But I will say this I'm 1/2 African (from Africa) and I have found that black people are very passionate people. Especially around our own people. We express our selves in our own way with the way we talk to the way we walk and dress. I think it's just apart of who we are. To you we come off as loud, and to a brotha lookin at you he might think your uptight, and need to relax. We're all different. I think instead we should just learn to appreciate the differences in all of us.

A stereotype that is actually with all people. It's a common thing. I for one know Black people in general speak loudy to make sure the voice their opinion, but not like anyone else doesn't. I know many of us aren't morning people, and when I'm in school in the morning, I usually hear loud staff members both Black White, and some are Hispanic. There's a time for people to be loud and then there's a time when people should keep there voices down, lol. It does get annoying, loud laughs, conversations.

That is not racist but it is a sterotype and based of truth (like many are) it is the envorment that we grow up in, always wanting to be heard, so we speak loudly and then talk over others so they start speaking loud to as well.

Also many italians talk loud as while.

I think it's a culture thing - many probably were raised thinking the goal of life is to just have a good time - they may not have been taught that some people want a quite, stable atmosphere in the places they go everyday.

I know what you mean. EVERY place I go, there seems to be that one bunch of people (and yes, it seems to be minorities 9 times out of 10) who are discussing vulgar topics at the top of their lungs.

You're correct, most blacks do speak this way. In the days of slavery blacks were generally not allowed to speak under threat of punishment of some sort. When slavery was abolished speaking out loud and in public was new to them, and they took advantage of this freedom. The loud speaking has simply passed from generation to generation. Kids learn from their parents. Simply think about the families in your neighborhood. Loud parent, loud kids. Quite parents, quite kids.
Just a side note: All of you who posted before I did and called jt names are in fact just as , if not more so guilty of what you accuse him of being. Remember all he did was ask a question. You started the name calling.

All latin people speak loud and incessantly. It's a culture thing and a racial trait.Blacks are more emotional and lively just like Latins. And what about the Irish? Makes the world a more interesting place.

I'm pretty quiet, I work in a library. Even in my daily life I tend to be sort of reserved. But I don't really care to dispell your prejudices.. not all black people are loud, just as all whites aren't nerdy...

Has nothing to do with race, but I always assumed it was because they grew up in a large household and it was the only way they could be recognized. But who knows! Just my observation. I always wondered the same thing. The only true way to find out is to ask them. And then again, my friend grew up with 6 siblings and she doesn't talk loudly. DUNNO! I give up!

Hey, I'm Italian, I speak pretty damn loud as I'm told. And I have a lot to say.
Blacks are fun loving gregarious folks who happen to speak up with enthusiasm.
