-2(x + 3y) = 5
-2x + 6y = 5
6y = 2x + 5
y = (2/6)x + 5/6
y = (1/3)x + 5/6

slope is 1/3, y-intercept is 5/6

solve for y in terms of x

-2(x+3y)=5

x+3y=-5/2

3y=-x-5/2

y=-1/3x-5/6

so slope m=-1/3 and y-intercept b=-5/6

y= -1/3x-5/6

m= -1/3
y- intercept= -5/6

-2(x+3y=5
x+3y=(-5/2)
3y=(-5/2)-x
y=(-5/2)-(x/3)
y=(-x/3)-(5/6)

y=mx+b

m= slope, b= y intercept

m= (-1/3)

b= (-5/6)

Philo isn't right, he forgot to distribute the negative sign from the -2

y = (-1/3)*x - *5/6)

Lots of luck on that next math test ☺
