statistics measure of average: the mode; what are some reasons why it is unreliable and generally bad?

other parts of my research of mean and median work in favour of my hypothesis, but the mode for the percentage error of one set of values is lower (meaning more accurate results). Please state some reasons why the mode is crap. I'm confused.

consider the data set {2, 2, 30, 29, 31, 34}
2 is not representative of the set, even though it's the mode. the mean of 21 1/3 isn't very representative, either.
