I don't know what Showaddywaddy means, but it was a group who were around from 1974-82. They had hits with 'Hey rock and roll', 'Three steps to heaven', 'Heartbeat', 'Under the moon of love' and several more. They dressed as teddy boys and sang rock and roll songs.
The guy the first answer is referring to who did 'Green door' was Shakin' Stevens - nothing to do with Showaddywaddy.

Showaddywaddy were formed in 1973 in Leicester, England, from two groups, ' Choise' and 'Golden Hammers'.

'Choise' wrote and performed original material and was made up of Dave Bartram, Trevor Oakes, Al James and Romeo Challenger. They also did a few covers - some of the original songs were carried over and used as Showaddywaddy songs.
