How do I get the Xbox 360 remote to work with my TV?

It just says to 'configure it' but how? where do i do this? using the xbox or the TV? How do I do it?

I have a Samsung R74 by the way

It quite clearly says in the manual that you can use it with your TV but it just says you can, but dosnt say how...
