My six week old daughter has suddenly become more interested in her mobile than in interacting with my husband and I. Sometimes I think it's adorable...she has a mobile with bears on it and she coos and smiles at them....but many times during the day she prefers them to us! She'll cry if we pick her up out of her pack and play to try to engage her, and she'll calm down if we put her down in there. I know this might sound like a great thing, and it IS in a way, considering up until this week she cried non-stop and refused to be put down even for naps. I'm just wondering if this is normal? I guess you can tell I'm a first time parent by this question :) Thank you!

Shes bored of you dear. Mines doing the same thing. She'd rather look at the ceiling fan than me.

Totally normal. This will continue in various ways the rest of her life. She has just discovered something new and exciting. In time, she'll find something else. Don't worry about her not having all kinds of interaction with you at this point. She's still a newborn (will be until she's 4 months old) and is getting used to world slowly. As she gets older she'll pay a lot more attention to you.

Sounds like you need to put more motion into your times with her. She likes things that move, not quick moving but something she can train her eyes on. It might run you ragged but she needs the movement for right now. You and your husband might try taking turns moving around while the other holds her.

Don't know for sure if it will work but it sounds like it might. It worked for me when my son was that young. He's 27 now.
