I'm about to graduate from high school and am seriously doubting whether I want to become a doctor. I used to want to be a doctor as a kid, but now that has become more of my parents' dream. It's not that I don't want to work in the health profession, but I don't want to limit myself to one field. I'm actually thinking of going into the entertainment business, but my parents find that being a doctor would be a better option. Are there any Indians out there who have strayed away from the typical Indian career path against your parents' wishes? How did they react?

I have. But my parents were different compared to usual Indian families. I was reared with the idea that I can do anything, and should try to be successful with what ever I think is best for me. My father recommended that I try to give something back to this world and I wanted to be a pilot. Some strange way I made my dream come true and ended up doing what he wanted. Follow your dreams. Never be afraid to stand against wrong, no matter who is that person.
