The question was:

Does God really care whether or not American gays can be married?

My Answer:

Yes, because God considers it to be an 'abomination' and, he considers homoseuxals to be sinners. and what did God say he would do to sinners? Well I think you will find he said he would wash his feet with theibr blood on the day of judgement!

Seems odd to me that God created humans, and therefore created Gays (as they do not conciously decide to be gay), yet hates them so passionately? I mean, homophobia is indeed what we nowadays consider ignorance? But how could he be ignorant of this world if he created it? hmmm, definitley unusual!

yet, 5-thumbs down! Yet my answer came straight from the bible! I don't understand it!

IN RESPONSE TO THE ANSWERS I'VE RECIEVED SO FAR:

It seems in asking this question i've answered another one, do a lot of people have trouble reading? it would seem they do. I can't beleive how many people have misinterpreted this and accused me of being a homopohobic bible basher. I'm gay!!!!!!! I was using God's hatred towards gay's as a way to suggest that he doesn't exisit, and if he does he isn't the loving god that most people believe in.

It also seems people don't know how to read the bible. in particular carjackermallone who said what I said wasn't true, and that it was ignorant for me to claim that!

Psalms 59:10

'The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.'

and

Leviticus 20:13

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them

It seems christians tend to overlook these bits!

I like your answer, but I think a lot of people interpret you as agreeing with God's view as claimed in the Bible. That's probably why it didn't go so well.

I didn't give you a thumbs down (or up) but I probably would have. Because you're passing judgement on me and the rest of the homosexuals based on something you read in a book. God did not write the bible, humans did. God created me, he doesn't hate me and he will not send me to hell based on the fact that I have the ability to love a person, not a gender. God created us all with the capacity to love and those who embrace that ability will be the ones that are looked upon as those he was proudest of creating.

Those who judge us are the ones that God will judge when the time comes. So get off your high horse. Worry about your own sins, let God handle ours.

because it comes from your beliefs, not Gods, in the bible it does consider homosexuality an abomination and a sin. But wait a minute, he who is without sin let him cast the first stone. Technically if you believe the bible, you know that no one deserves to be saved, except by the grace of God. He is an incredibly more than one can ever, ever know a loving God so as you said before yes, in the bible homosexuality is considered an abomination and sin, but again we--yes all of us--on earth--humans who breathe.... all sin every day...we are all sinners, so your answer came across a bit damning.

This may come as a shock to you, but not everyone believes what's in the bible, or agrees with it. So taking something straight from the bible doesn't mean you will only get thumbs-up all the time.

Why should we believe the Bible?

It fails to reliably or usefully predict ANYTHING.

I didn't give you a thumbs down, but your concept seems
to be that something is right just because it comes from the
Bible. That same Bible can (and has) been used to justify
slavery, mass murder, pedophilia, etc.

Gay people probably read the first line or 2 of it and then were appaled at what you said and put thumbs down. Even though it is from the bible, many people do not care, exspeccially atheist.

Any time you ask a religious based question, you will get your believers and non-believers. Those who do not believe were most likely the ones who gave you thumbs down. Try to take it with a grain of salt. Ya just can't please all the people all the time. You answered seriously with the knowledge you had, and that is the best you can do. I personally thought it was a good answer, and I bet I will get some thumbs down for my opinion.
