there was alot of discussion about this movie I watched Bastard out of Carolina that was about child abuse. It also had a rape scene in it. The child actress was hmmm 12 or 11 and the guy was a grown man well over thirty. Do you think they should let child actors be filmed in rape scenes? People were saying it's too much for the child and others were saying well it's not real so... and my mom says that's their parents fault not the director. What's your take on this and if you think it's wrong how do you think it's bad for the child

The director could have done that scene in a different way.I did not feel a child should be placed in a situation like that ,acting or not.The parent used bad judgemnet. The story was good and the young actress did a good job.The rape scene was a big no,no.What kind of impact it had on the little girl, she would be the only one to answer that. For myself,if a grown man had been all over me like that when I was 11,I would have felt scared, embarassed, and would have had problems with my sexuality and self-esteem.

I saw that movie and I thought is was a tad bit racy for such a young gal. They could have gone about that in a much better way. Like they cut away and then when they come back the rape is brought up somehow, but that doesn't make for sensationalism in the movie....You Mother is correct...all they had to do was say NO...isn't that what we are supposed to teach our children? Not to let anyone touch you with an inappropriate touch? What message is her parents giving to her???? All for the BIG BUCKS! What some people won't do for that loot.

I cant remember the name of the movie your taking a bout but i do remember all the conflict of having such a young actor, it was the girl plus her mother that had a dissuasion and they agreed together that she could do this movie, probably because she knew that it was just that ............a movie...pretend......but my opinion is that the scene was an adult violent act that could still cause trauma and put thoughts that would normally not have been there. no i dont think it was the best thing to do

The USA is just demoralizing everyone, by desensitizing us to scenes of violence....Her parents should be held accountable for there decision.. and although it is only acting... think of the consequences.... Rape and child molesting should be taken very serious.... child molesters need to be killed immediately without the ability for rehabilitation.....If you are convicted of this offense then YOU MUST DIE.... We shouldn't glamorize these injustices on the big screen...

It's wrong and it's bad for society not necessarily just the child.
