Is it that they are in a hurry? Come on....slow down a bit and you won't look like an idiot. Most of the words misspelled are easy ones. I realize nobody's perfect but when you read 10 questions and 8 of them are misspelled, it worries me. I have 2 kids and it makes me wonder about the school systems. Anyone else a bit disturbed?

Abbreviating is not the issue. That's fine.

I almost asked this question myself yesterday. Maybe they're in a hurry, or maybe they just don't care. Another possibility is that the majority of their knowledge of the English language comes from instant messaging. It is distressing to see simple words like "their" or "lose" misspelled consistently.

Well, English is not my first language (it's my third), so I do spell things wrong occasionally or use the 'wrong' word. However, I have noticed that my spelling and grammar tend to be better than some of the "natives". That's a bit disturbing only if you want to understate the issue. That is HIGHLY disturbing, IMO.

Most of them simply don't want to spell correctly and/or don't care. They live in a world where they think it should cater to them and their individual ways instead of the other way around.

Kids have gotten so used to being told that they are special that they tend to believe it. They don't realize that sometimes when a person tells them that they are special, sometimes they mean "special" as in "Special Olympics" special.

Because most of the people can not speak very good English so they try to spell the way it sounds.Something happens in translation also. Some do not understand spell check. Some are just kids that haven't gotten good at it yet.

I`m beyond being disturbed! Don`t people realize that poor spelling can become a habit and when they need to impress someone i.e. a potential employer they`ll be lost.

YES! There are some questions that I won't even answer because I can barely figure out what the person is trying to say.

I must ask, DON'T YOU HAVE SPELL CHECK?
