It's funny, i was reading this guy's question: " Do car salesmen make money?". This guy said that one of his buddies said he was making 6 figures in the business. His reasoning for not believing him was because he "had no degree". What a moron. Do people actually think you can't make good money these days without a degree?

My dad has no degree, started out selling toyotas, then because an owner of the #2 porsche/audi dealership in the nation, sold it and retired a decamillionaire at the age of 50.

The money you can make in the car business in unlimited, depending on how hard you work, and yes, you can actually make a good money "hustling" without any type of degree.

I actually have friends who have degree's and make absolutly no money what -so- ever, broke; and friends who are drop-outs, but are educated in the game of life, that make much more than the "degree guy". God i hate people sometimes.

I agree with you. People are so dumb and ignorant that they don't even realize we are at the verge of extinction. We use up excessive natural resources yet we don't care. We overhunt the animal population and we still don't care. We people are very abusive, especially towards the environment.

With a father who is a decamillionaire, what reason do you have to hate anyone?
After all, people made your father a millionaire. Just think, were the early humans millionaires? No, they were hunters and gatherers. Those who managed to hunt successfully were considered successful and had the choice of the best women
and dwelling place.
It is true, you don't need a university degree to make money. You need a talent and your father obviously had a talent to convince people they wanted to buy cars.
Others' are not as lucky. I cannot sell if my life depended on it.
What I can do is to give excellent service to my clients who in turn recommend me to others.
There is that other thing called a thirst for knowledge, some attend university to acquire it but if you are a cynic I'd better not mention something so mundane, but remember your father could not have
sold his cars, were it not for the people who attended university and learned how to make them in the first place.

Why did this guy's question evoke such strong emotions in you? Perhaps you are dealing with some issues that have nothing to do with his question. If "degree guy" can get you to "hate people sometimes", then you have much bigger problems than the people here on Yahoo Q&A.

People are this way sometimes because of the experiences in their life. If every drop-out that they have ever seen lived on the street than they would expect them all to live on the street. It's sad but it happens all the time.

I have a Ph.D. and make very little money. It's probably just an old school way of thought.

I never got that tired old "you must get an education" line, either. I think those people are probably just repeating what they heard from many generations ago.
