You will most likely have to separate them. There is an site where you can ask questions it might take a few days. Also you can look to see if your question is already on there with any answer Here's the site.

Sometimes they get to an age where they no longer like each other. With hamsters I read it's anytime after 2 months.

However mine are fine.

For guinea pigs I assume it would be the same. I'd seperate them because they will fight until one dies.

Or you could buy another cage and connect it to the first cage that way they each have their own home and can get away from each other if needed. Plus you can always seperate the cages!

they need to be seperated if they are fighting, not all guinea pigs like company, especially if they are too male (but sometimes females too).
They will be happier apart if they always fight, and if you are worried about them getting lonely then just fuss them a little more yourself, guinea pigs dont really mind who is their friend, like like humans just as much (sometimes more than) humans.

How big is their cage? For two guinea pigs to get along well, I'd consider the bare minimum square footage to be at least 10 square feet. They can survive in a smaller cage, but it causes territory disputes. I wouldn't immediately separate them, but would build them a bigger cage (like at http://www.guineapigcages.com)

I've got six guinea pigs living in various groups, and they're all happy as long as they've got enough space. :)

Guinea pigs and gerbals are very territorial and will fight for space ,you will have to split them ,then they calm down my local pet shop told me this.

You'll have to split them up, it's the only way to stop the fighting I'm afraid. So it'll mean buying another cage and putting one of them in it.

its safer that way

Try putting them in a much bigger cage.Being short of room can cause fights.

If they still fight then you will have to seperate them.
