K, so I'm trying to make a works cited page, but the damn microsoft word puts like 5 lines between each link I wrote, and won't let me format in MLA style, how do I cancel the auto citation thing it's doing?

There a few things that can be doing this if you can add more information it would be helpful.

Click help in Word top row. type in Adjust line and paragraph spacing.

If you highlight or click select all is there a dark line on the left for 5 spaces between the text? You can just highlight that area and hit delete (just the verical line between the text, not the text)

Are you using a template?

Go into format click reveal formatting
Go into tools click the double arrows if you don't see Auto correct.
Open auto correct and check formatting options.

Are you getting an options button?
It looks like a small thunder bolt if it shows up, click and see what options are avaiable.

You can try this site which has a template:

or here are some citaion generators

You might want to change the Style of your hyperlink or any of the other styles that you are using.
Go into FORMAT >> STYLE AND FORMATTING. A window will popup on the right side. Find the particular style that's giving you a problem, and click on the little arrow and Modify Style.

try going under "Format" on the top tool bar and then go to "paragraph", you can adjust your lines there any way that you want. I think that's what you meant.
