Like any other portable expensive electronic device there is a degree of care you should take.

I thought I had a dead pixel when I first got it, but it began working as I played it more. It was hardly noticable anyway.

The only way to get a virus is if you down some crap to your psp. But I've never actually seen anyone with a virus, so who knows.

The PSP is not that delicate. You can break it unless you drop it or smash it with tremendous force.
The PSP uses a LCD screen so it may or may not have one or two dead pixels. (Its visible when the psp is in sleep mode)
Dont worry about the virus becuase the sony company want to prevent users from downgrading the firmware. So they develope a virus that bricks the PSP so you cant fix it. As long as you dont downgrade the PSP you are fine (unless you know what you are doing)

A PSP like other hand helds will probably mess up if they are dropped from high like say your standing up and drop it on a hard wood floor it might break it.As far as viruses you will not have to worry about unless you get into downloading games on your PC to put on your PSP.
