I was told that I have a bench warrant because I missed a court date, but I called to reschedule an appearance, I left messages with the commissioner, but I haven't heard from them. Do I still have a bench warrant.

I've had that too. You go to the court house where the warrant is from and reschedule. You will not get arrested and the warrant will be removed.

Hire an attorney to schedule an OSC (Order to Show Cause) Hearing before the Court, to explain why you missed your appearance.

Secondly, keep a low profile...

Not everyone in America can afford an attorney. I think probably most can't. See if your county has a public defender's office and see if they will help you.

Until you hear from them or go to them in person, yes you do, and can be arrestted at any time.
