I am just in total shock right now, and I don't know how to respond to it... so I'm curious how you would if it happened to you... Say you met someone online and were talking to them for months. You actually started developing feelings for this person, and you can't dent it - And then you find out that they gave you a fake picture of themselves.... Everything else about them was true, but they were too self conscious with themselves to actually give you a picture of them...... Do you just stop talking to them because of that...? Or would you be able to deal with that because you really cared about that person?

I can't deny my feelings for them... but at the same time I just feel very betrayed......

What would you do if it were you in this situation?

I say give him a chance, but find out why he did that. And ask yourself this--- if the picture was of his real face, would you have given him a chance to begin with? If the answer is NO, then you know why he did it... And you have learned something about yourself! Maybe you need to look beyond appearances.... If you want to continue with it, reassure that guy that he can be truthful and honest with you and explain that you would not want him to lie to you again, because honesty is important.....

Being attracted to someone has a lot to do with a relationship. You have to like what you see to know if it will go any further. The fact that he lied to you about his appearance is a big deal, even if he was self conscious of the way he looks, is not right. I am sure that he lied about other things as well. You have developed feelings for a false person. I would move on.

You say "Everything else about them was true", how do you know that? Personally, I would not feel that I could trust anything the person said if I found out that they not only lied, they lied for MONTHS. It's different if after a couple of weeks they say "Well, to protect myself I never put my real picture out online, but now I have to tell you the truth..." I could understand that, but to wait for months, after the two of you have begun to get serious? No, I wouldn't be able to see them anymore because I couldn't trust them, and because I'd feel hurt that they didn't trust me enough to tell me the truth a long time ago. I would just always wonder if there was anything else they'd lied about....

i would say give them a chance to explain why they did that.because there are some people who although may be very nice, but are a bit conscious about their looks. but nevertheless if apart from this one thing this person is alright ,give that person another chance.
