As tempting as it would be, I would have to give it back. That karma thing pops up all the time.

I would tell them their mistake. I really thought that I would be one of those people who would take the money and run. But I've found myself in these kind of situations several times and I find that I always am honest (and even upset about it afterwards.) The other day I was returning merchandise at Macy's and had the biggest idiot salesperson ever. She could not figure out how to return some shirts I brought it. Then she gave me back the shirts I was returning and then tried to give me my friends shirts (who also was returning them.) She told me to go upstairs to try to return them. I could have walked off with 3 extra shirts for free and possibly gone upstairs to get money back from them (not sure if this would work or not.) But I ended up telling her about it.

I have to live with myself, so of course, I give it back. The way to judge who a person really is , is how he acts when he knows no one will ever know. But you have to face that man in the mirror every day and if you don't like him, then whats the point? '...I must be true to my ideals though I may be avoided and excluded..'.....' it's not enough to know right from wrong unless I'm strong enough to do it'..........

I applaud all of you who answered that you would give it back..no mater what the reason as to why you would do it. It does my heart good to know that there are so many honest people still out there! Be proud. As to the rest of you, except the person who wasn't sure, but did answer truthfully, you are in for some rough lessons in life, I hope you're ready. What goes around ,really does come around. But honesty is paid back three-fold.

This happened to me once at Target...(Its kinda like Wal Mart, except not as big and bad) I bought something expensive with a really large bill and she gave me my change and the bill back on accident. I of course pointed out the error to her...I wasn't gonna walk away with a free product + 40 or so dollars. WRONG.

I would always tell them. What if you didn't and the cashier who made the error lost their job... As John Lennon said instant Karma's gonna get you...

Yes and no.
Yes I would return it.
No I wouldn't give to the teller. I'd give it to the manager, with the teller present.
BTW you'll probably get some free coupons. LOL

It goes back. That person will have to answer at the end of the day and could lose their job over it.

I give it back.
My friend used to work at a fast food place and if your cash register came up short that big you would more than likely get canned. I can't have that on my conscious.
