Mine is really loose and doesn't move very fast, when my legs go really fast.

There should be a spring off to the right of the footplate. Tighten this up to you desired tension. Don't over tighten it thouigh or you will lose all response from your pedals. The idea is get your pedals to swing easily. To test it do this: push down on your lead pedal until the beater is touching the batter head then release your foot off the pedal and see how the pedal swings. If it swings nice and free and continues to do so for a while your pedals are evenly balanced for tension vs. beater hieght. If it flops back only once or twice they are to slack, if it springs back against the batter head really fast they are too tight.

I hope this helps...remember speed isn't always better. Drumming is about groove.

just look at the bottom of the spring and tighten the knob its pretty easy.
