The reason I ask is that I find you are gentlemen of a very special sort, but that does not mean I really understand you!!!!
Just as an effort to understand, I am asking that question. I have
found, for example, that you are justifiably proud of your education and your achievements in a way that is special to you.
Also, that you relish certain things .... like things to eat, and wear and things to think and chat about that are particular to the UK......
I don't want to be caught short forgetting the Welsh ... I am sorry to have done that in my previous question!!!
I don't mean to embarrass anyone..... I am just asking what you like, if that is alright..

I am not English and I love my children as much as the next man, I am also proud of my education and my achievements and my children's achievements and I eat things that are healthy and like to wear nice clothes. Sounds bigoted to me.

i don't understand why you want to generalise? wouldn't treating people as individuals make more sense? if someone says they like fish and chips to eat for example are you going to presume everyone in the uk does?
maybe 'understand that i'm an individual' would be a good answer to your question.
