Crabs are constantly on the look out for food. They will eat constantly. You are better off to feed 3 times a day smaller amounts.

I feed my hermit crab about once or twice a week. They don't eat much or often. BTW, I've found that my crab enjoys cheerios.

you should only feed crab to people, preferably with melted butter.
