A year ago, my coolant reservoir cracked ,but when i added antifreeze my heat still worked. The car sat for about 9 months and i just took it to get the reservior replaced, thinking the heater would then work, but it blows cool air, and the air flow seems limited. I replaced the Thermostat myself, and it still isnt working. The A/C works just fine. Any idea what could be wrong? I noticed when i got it back from the mechanic my turn signal wasnt working...he had removed the fuse for whatever reason. Is it possible he could have removed a fuse that would cause my heat not to work? I checked the fuses next to my manual and the only 2 missing are the "Transit relay" (Export only) and the "Thermactor relay" (FFV only). The "thermactor" sounds like it might affect the heat, but im a moron when it comes to cars...what does "FFV only" mean? Does it mean i dont need it on my car? Any help would be great! Thanks.

Thanks for the great answers guys! As far as the temperature control switch...no, i cant tell a difference when i turn it to hot or cold...no sound like it it switching over, etc. So, im thinking if that is not the issue, then it is most likely the heater core. It was sitting for a long time and when we flushed it out, the liquid was dark brown and rusty looking.

First of all FFV stands for Fleixible Fuel Vehichle. Meaning that the engines fuel system is designed to run on either regular gas or ethenol. It has nothing to do with your heat. When you move the temprature contol knob can you hear the door moving or hear a differance in the air flow? Are you absolutely sure the system is full? Some times you can get an air lock in the heater core that can be difficult to get out. When the car is warm are both the heater hoses hot? If not the heater core is plugged or the heater control valve is stuck shut.

FFV means Fuel Friendly Vehicle. It is probably a fuse for a warming system for your fuel. Which is not linked to your problem. The heating system consisits of the following. Two hoses run from your thermostat housing(sometimes watermump). these run to a box on the firewall. This is your heater coil, which is a coil of copper, water runs through here and the blower motor, which is a small motor attached to a squirrel cage(a type of fan). blows air over these coils, thus sending you hot air. I am unsure if it makes a difference, but perhaps you put the two hoses on backwars, just a guess. Also, if your thermostat is stuck open, your engine may not get warm enough to heat the water enough, thus meaning you have no hot air.

Best of Luck!

mice love heater boxes.
if you run the car and raise and lower the fan switch.and feel the diff. fan is ok.
If you change the defrost dash, floor control and feel the air move to desired settings all is good there.
If the antifreez is low it may be below the heater line pickups.
on a 2007 jeep the water level in the bottle must be full within a qt.
if you have snow all around your windsheild the air intake in front of the windsheild bay restrick air flow into the cabin
usually putting a fuse in a missing fuse block will do no har.m
good luck

Check your........
Coolant level
Thermostat
Heater valve... which is under the hood inline with the heater hoses, there should be a small vacuum line on it and the valve should move.

It could be that your heater core is stuffed, from sitting around. They do rust and once they do they starting leacking coolant through your car
