Are there any true hippies left in this world?

How would you describe a Hippie

These days people think if they dress the part, go a few days without washing and take s**** loads of drugs that makes them a hippie. In my eyes they have always stood for so much but people tend not to see beyond the clothes, hair and haze of smoke.

You need to be a product of the sixties to be a true hippie.
Experimenting with psychedelia would help, so would extensive knowledge of the Grateful dead, Jefferson Airplane, etc

Lots of hippies took/take drugs to open up their creative state of mind. Although I wasn't alive in the 60/70s, I didn't go to Woodstock, (which by the way Woodstock 94 could never stand up to 69) and I may be only 14, I'm still pretty much the closest thing to a hippie you will find around here. I do bathe, sometimes with patchouli, and I am a vegetarian. But your right. People who think that using tons of drugs and go without bathing makes them a hippie have us all wrong. It's much deeper, my friend.

Most people confuse the "Rainbow Children" with all hippies. Being a hippie is a state of mind...it has nothing what so ever to do with bad hygiene. 99.9 % of Hippies do not stink, they bathe.

P.S. I was raised in San Francisco in the 60's...yeah, i'm old too.

Me! I was a true dope-smokin', Woodstock-going "Flower Child!"
Don't forget the hitch-hiking and "pan-handling!" The peace protest were so much fun. Watching the "pigs" bash guys in the head. Having friends sent off to Viet Nam. When they came back they were more goofy than any of us Hippies - that is if they got back at all.
Yep, I'm an old kitty.

A true hippie is just someone who is
willing to stand up for their beliefs and
to do what ever is necessary.
