I lost weight on depo. I had gained some while on the pill. I actually got to where I couldn't gain any weight. Depo is really bad. I do not recommend it to anyone. Look up horrorstoriesof depoprovera.com before you continue to use it PLEASE. I was on it just over two years and now have been diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 27. Depo causes major bone loss. It I fall I could spend the rest of my life in a wheel chair because my spine is seven times more likely to fracture. My hips are five times more likely to fracture. Depo can also sterilize you. So if you ever plan on having children I would not take it. It took it 1 1/2 years to get out of my system. Good Luck!

Depo won't "make" you gain weight. It does, in some women, cause an increase in appetite. That is why some women gain weight. Most do not.

I never gained weight on the depo shot. Of course, if you expect to gain weight, you probaly will pack some on.
As long as you fight cravings to pack your body full of junk, then you'll be just fine.

i started losing weight on it, but i would not recommend it to anyone. i have tried to get on it 2 different times and both times made me really sick. my uterus walls came out and i started cramping and bleeding, headaches. and then the second time i started bleeding and cramping and couldn't have sex bc it was destroying the tissues and my doctor has put me on the pill, otho tri-cyclin lo, which works good and i havent had problems with it.
