Yes he did, but it's all good as they stole the idea from xerox.

Operating systems have been around a long time.
Much longer than either the 'mac inventors' or
Mr Gates for that matter. See the link below.
A Mac isn't better, just a different concept, and way
of doing things. As it happens, Mac OS is somewhat
linux-alike ..
XP has issues with all sorts of things, and so does a
Mac. You makes your choice, pays your money, and
then end up on answers or elsewhere, asking 'why
does my xxx computer do this?! ' :o)

yes he did, and yes apple probably got the idea from xerox.
but it's all about implementation, and since OS X came out, mac has ruled the roost.
I switched from windows to mac and I could not be happier about it.
It would be nice if someone like google would make a nice PC OS, that would be attractive to me. Ubuntu is a pretty good linux setup...but still needs to be more polished.

In a way yes but windows is really based on IBM OS/2. Mac stole their os from Xerox PARC. Steve jobs was invited to see it, Gates and microsoft was not.
