If you were in charge of Britain for a week, what would you do and what laws would you pass?

You don't have to run any of this by a government - you're in total charge. So what taxes would you reduce (or hopefully kick out of the door), what policies would you make, what would you do about the war in Iraq, about crime and punishment, about terrorism and religious extremists?
Come on, YOU'RE IN CHARGE!!! So tell us what you'd do!

Pass a law to make my week 10 years , then...

Leave the EEC
Stop foreign boats fishing our waters
Stop dole money for all after 6 months (work or starve)
End child benefit for anything over 2 kids
Remove sky's satellites from orbit
Remove the trading licence from Argos
Band smoking everywhere
Decrease the population by removing all the talentless blobs.
Melt all church bells into door stops.
Makes cars that don't need oil from the middle east.
And above all else ban mankind's greatest curse RELIGION!!

I would pass a law which cancelled all laws passed in the last ten years of which there are thousands. We can't possibly know them all so at any given time we can be breaking some law which we didn't even know existed.Get out of Iraq and let them run their own country as they did it much better before we interfered, make the punishments for crimes mean something and see that criminals served their full sentences and not get any reductions for spurious reasons.Let the teachers run the schools and stop the politicians interfering in everything as they obviously haven't a clue.Alternatively suspend Parliament for ten years and see if it made any difference, I think you would find that the country carried on far better without Parliament, plus there would be enormous savings financially.

I would spend all my time taking laws off the books instead of making new ones. Britain is a super police state with cameras everywhere. I would take those down first. I would abolish all the intrusive taxes, reduce the police force and use more money for education. Holy smokes looking at the option polls regarding what freedoms Britts will give up for alleged security is scary as hell. Half the nation is more attuned to be prison guards than free Englishmen.

All tax cut in half ,and reduce it by 10% every year till it is 25% of what it is.All Immigration stopped,A return of all third world would start, If it does not have a cross it will be torn down,all muzzy would return to their countries,not matter where born.A white culture will return ,all people will work ,unless retired,all troops will return to England to act as police,all crime will end in every corner of the land.All commie teachers would be rounded up and go to jail for life.all lawyers would be too.Investment into all types of manufacturing and research into better fuels,foods,medical.Health and happiness of the people will be job #1 Education will never stop till 65.Doctors will be everyplace and really working.Only the best of the best will be allowed in.for a short time.

I would create an upper house totally independent of the house of commons composed of members who have already had a SUCCESSFUL career in engineering, science, medicine, commerce,economics and labour relations nominated by their colleagues and elected by popular vote.I would abolish value added tax. I would ensure that every firm operating in the uk paid full taxes no offshore tax havens and reintroduce the death penalty for first degree murder and flogging for crimes of extreme violence,that should free up a few prison cells. Any one who wanted to live under sharia law would be relocated in Iran Syria the lebanon and pass a law that anyone sighning a declaration of war should be in the first tank into action. I would pull all troops out of Iraq the way they do things out there they would settle the problem for us.

My Mum died last Monday at 97, and I was sorting through her 'important papers box' and found - her IDENTITY CARD from World War 2 and the years following. Nobody grumbled about them then - they were just grey cardboard folded once and everybody carried them. It's a good job we're not at war now - we'd be overrun overnight our border security is to appalling!

So first I would reinstate the Coast Guard Service immediately and give them 'speedy boats with GPS' to patrol the waters and communicate with their cliff top watch towers.

I would reintroduce identity cards like those in the last war with NI numbers issued at birth and cancelled out on date of death[assuming the 3.5million duplicate numbers on the government's databases have now been removed!!!]

I would introduce the death penalty for drivers who exceed speed limits and kill pedestrians and other drivers as a result. Then take the police off the road patrols and get them looking after the law abiding citizens who pay their taxes and get mugged, robbed, raped and murdered.

I would take the police off the drugs work and legalise all drugs and make them free on prescription to those who are daft enough to use them - the cost would be less then the cost of the police 'trying to find the dealers and importers'.

I would buy all the drugs produced in Afghanistan and use the products on prescription in the UK through the NHS - just move the money around from fighting illegal war and war costs in Arghanistan and Iraq by bringing our troops home and reverting to 'defence' rather than 'war' [Why we have a ministry of defence is beyond me - it should be the ministry of war] Afghans would be happy and could continue in their farming of poppies and get a bite to eat from the proceeds.

I would make all politicians and prospective candidates for same undergo 'pschychometric assessment' to establish their character type and natural aptitudes and abilities - since this is about the only high paid job you can do without any training!

I would unlink from cost of living and wages of the state employee pensions until the rest of us can have our meagre state pensions linked to cost of living and wages like them.

- I could go on and on and as I spent my career hitting the ground running, I guess I could get a load of stuff moving in 7 days working a 14 hour day [a 98 hour week - not unusual when necessary]

The FIRST tax, to get kicked OUT of the door, - NEVER to RETURN, - would be be that damned oppressive HOUSE TAX. It's JUST "SON OF POLL TAX", anyway, - and, THAT was instigated by the TORIES, - a rag-bag of political misfits, whose very EXISTENCE would, - and SHOULD, be made ILLEGAL! V.A.T. would be abolished. Those who have BOUGHT their homes, have ENOUGH to cope with, paying a MORTGAGE, - and those who RENT, can't afford to BUY. Secondly, on CRIME, - I would bring back the ROPE, for ALL child killers, and ensure that RAPISTS are CASTRATED, - BOTH of which, I would willingly, carry out, PERSONALLY. Corruption, in POLITICAL matters, would carry a "LIFE" sentence, - WITHOUT PAROLE, - which would, ALSO, be banned! Military service, - for TWO YEARS, - would be COMPULSORY, for ALL, above the age of eighteen. Ban ALL forms of religion, - on the basis, that, - one way, or another, - it is, today, the REASON, for MOST of the WARS that are happening! That would nullify the need, for nuclear weapons, - thus, the BILLIONS, they cost, could be put to better use, such as HEALTH CARE. It would, also, defeat religious extremism, - as there would BE NO RELIGION. Ah, - HEAVEN!

Bulldoze derelict empty 3 storey buildings clogging up city centres, and build 14 storey appartment blocks with 2 acre gardens in their place, providing short term employment and addressing the silly house price issue in a way that befits the economy.
Ban new car sales for one year and increase public transport.

Reduce the tax on gasoline, as a start. Reduce the tax on everything else second. All the Queen's stuff is going on Ebay and the proceeds help to reduce taxes further. Queen can get a job doing endorsements for feminine products. Arm the police and the populace....burglars beware. The Nanny State dies today.
