Looking for real marine speakers, 6.5" or 6X9".
Around $100/pair is OK.
They need to be real marine speakers. Getting washed down with saltwater will not be uncommon. Grills need to provide coverage against beating fish, stray gaff hooks, drunken stumblers, direct spray from a washdown pump, storage outside in the FL sun.... you get the drift.

Looking for good, full range sound quality; unfortunatley a functional display of marine speakers is hard to come by.

Clarion and Kicker make some very nice marine equipment. No speaker is waterPROOF but marine speakers are more water RESISTANT than regular speakers in that their construction and materials used are designed for a damp environment.

Save some money and just get regular speakers.
I had a 23ft. CC with a normal pair of speakers mounted under my T-Top. Went out every weekend off the east central Florida coast.
When I went looking, the guy at the marine store told me this same thing, in the time that you have the boat, if something should go wrong with the speakers, you can buy 3 or 4 pair of regular speakers to One good pair of high quality marine speakers, which you probably won't get for 100 bucks.
I had mine for about 5 yrs, never had a problem.
Mine were in, I guess it was a plastic or aluminum casing, approx 5"wide x 10" high and about 4 " deep.
Good luck and good fishing.

Check out this guys ebay store. About the cost of indoor but reliable and bulletproof. I have a 6 speaker system on deck and in cabins with volume controls. Never had to replace one yet and 11 years old. For under $100 you can buy a CD player with AM/FM and 2 speakers 6x9's and have the radio as a back-up

Try "overton's.com", I know what you mean, speakers are short lived on the water, even heavy duty marine speakers don't last long in the harsh environment, I have only 1 speaker, and it's exposed all the time (15' Whaler) for the V.H.F. radio, if I get 2 season's out of one, I'm ecstatic, and I need one too, ever try and listen to that little speaker that comes with the V.H.F. radio ? Why do they even bother building a speaker into it, it's "Useless" and an external one needs to be added always. A non-marine speaker will have a VERY short life span in the salt/sun environment.
