I need to make an outfit from the 1940's?

i'm in a ***low budget*** play at school. Set during the war times in 1940, I need a costume for a 20-30 ish women. any links, or suggestions??

Actually, I would ask my grandmother, great aunt, and all relatives if they had any old clothes packed in an attic or closet.
Then I would look in Good Will, Salvation Army, and all other available thrift stores.

You could rent an old movie from that period. I love movies from that period. I know wide shoulders and below-the-knee dresses and skirts were very big!
