I'm a guy, and since I was little my closest friends have always been girls. I have guy friends I hang out with, but I feel it's a lot easier for me to make friends with girls. Also, I tend to fall for a lot of these girls and mess around with quite a few of them, but we still stay friends and its all good. Is being heterosocial normal?

In general, in Western society, men compete, so it's harder for them to become friends. Ever notice it's called "male bonding"? That's because men form alliances with each other for mutual protection from enemies. Girls are generally socialized to be more friendly, peace-making, and conciliatory with men, but are more at odds in competing with other females.

I think it's good that you're heterosocial. You're probably a gentle, talkative guy who gets along well with women. You're not competitive with men, and this is very attractive to women. Doesn't matter what's normal, you sound well adjusted and happy.

The same reason I get along better with guys. I work around them and understand them better, and can talk to them easier.
