Contrary to stereotypes by the media and in movies, Germany is a wonderful country and a leader in innovation, trade, and business in Europe and abroad. They have a unique culture and put a lot of emphasis on life, family, and work. There is a whole lot more to write about that I cannot fit into one post, so if you have any further questions I would be glad to answer them for you, espelkamper83@yahoo.com. I used to live over there.

Germany is a beautiful country with lots of castles, great historic sites, some medieval towns, mountains in the south and the North See and Baltic See in the north. The majority of young people speak English, lots of advertisement is in English, they all love a good time, still more family oriented then here. The stores are not open on Sundays. The hot meal is served at 1 pm, at night they eat sandwiches, half is Roman catholic ( the lower half) the northern part is Lutheran. The trains are amazing, always on time, public transit in the cities is also very good. All TV shows you see here, they are also over there, they also have CNN in English and German. Children go to school 6 days a week education is a lot harder then here, much more strict. They're nightlife and magazines are not as prude as here, even adverts have naked women in family magazines so don't be shocked.
They are much more open as they say. In big cities they're like New Yorkers, always in a hurry. in the smaller towns the older people might be a bit indifferent to foreigners but otherwise its fine. The Autobahn is good too, you can drive distances between towns with no speed limit. I love to go and visit and shop!
