The dinosaurs became extinct (died out) 65 million years ago.

How long ago a dinosaur was 'born' depends on the dinosaur and when he lived. Dinosaurs ruled the earth for almost two million years. So, you would have to carbon date the dinosaur you have in question to discover exactly when it was "born.".

Dinosaurs were vertebrate animals that dominated terrestrial ecosystems for over 160 million years, first appearing approximately 230 million years ago. At the end of the Cretaceous Period, approximately 65 million years ago, a catastrophic extinction event ended dinosaurs' dominance on land.
