OK, my friend thinks the Star Wars movies are just boy movies and no girl likes them. Ladies...explain why you like the Star Wars franchise.

A long time ago (okay, just thirty years ago) in a theater, very, very, near….
Either, you get “it” or you don’t. Overall, women enjoy this move for the very same reasons as men. Yes, it was unlike anything else in its time. There was magic when the title scrolled up the screen. What was not to like? It’s a fairy tale set in space. It looked and sounded cool. I am not even into the science fiction genre in general. But if you were to ask what my favorite all time movie was, I would say, "The Empire Strikes Back" without question. The setting may have been in space, but the story and archetypes used transcend science fiction.
And for every guy that wished he could be a Jedi, or Dark Lord of the Sith, there was a girl that wanted to be a princess. (What female, of any age, doesn't secretly want to be a princess?) And Leia wasn't an ordinary princess. She was tough, great with a blaster, proactive in her own rescue, in charge and in the end she wound up with the “scoundrel” who had the fastest ship….
Which brings me to Han. Reason alone for a woman to love Star Wars.
I could get really complex with this, and long winded. But really it is that simple….

I love the Star Wars movies because they are entertaining and they aren't boring. The acting is great and the concepts are entertaining and they keep me thinking after the movie is over. The Star Wars trilogy was a trilogy that I watched more than once. The newest three are good, too. But of all six movies, Episode 1 and Episode 6 were the best, IMO.

First of all, girls who don't like Star Wars are self absorbed prissy beauty queens drowning in their own estrogen. All of the movies are great, but Return of the Jedi is the BEST! I use to watch it as a very little girl. I love the plots and the deepness of the content. It's so encouraging to see Darth Vader save his son by turning on his former master. It has just a dash of romance that doesn't distract from the real plot and comedy that can be sometimes corny, but not too bad. Some of my female friends say that Luke is hot. For me let's just say he wouldn't need to use any Jedi mind tricks on me. I've never seen eyes that blue!

I (a woman) really like the Star Wars movies, although I am met by disbelief by some of my female friends. I guess I like the fantasy aspects a lot - the interesting worlds and creatures that Lucas created. Except for those annoying ewoks.

Star Wars is cool! They have action, romance, great graphs (the newer ones do anyway. Tho i like the old ones better), pretty good acting and a decent plot. That's pretty much all i look for in a movie. And yeah, i'm a girl!

25 y.o. female here... I'm a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan! I suppose girls who like Star Wars like it for the same reason guys do. Good plot, cool action, the draw of people doing things we wish we could do (I wanna be a jedi! :D ). Of course, there are things that some guys don't care about, like the love story and cute guys in the SW movies.

i love the ORIGINAL star wars trilogy that came out. the one i grew up watching and knowing as the original. i love movies that have to do with outerspace/science fiction. it was the first of it's kind like that...can't explain why, but i know my dad took me to see the first one about 3 times in the theater...they just don't make movies like that anymore....even my 5 year old daughter likes them....the other 2 are still to small to understand...

the star wars movies are by far my favorite movies ever! whats not to like?! amazing storyline, good looking cast, good versus evil, some romance thrown in the mix...and above all, yoda is the man! love star wars!

Star Wars is awsome !!!!! It is totally creative and girls should like these movie b/c the lead female characters (Padme and Leia) are strong women in positions of power. Also for girls who are weird over blood, but like to watch men look hot in battle there is no gore factor.

I didn't know what was the big deal about Star Wars until i got into college and decided to give it a chance and i loved it... i don't know i guess i really liked the fantasy/sci-fi aspect of it....
