Cigarettes are not that expensive anymore. Quite ironically our government decided to lower taxes on cigarettes 4 years ago. 20 cigarettes used to cost 35 Danish Kroner (6 US$); now local brands cost 22 Danish Kroner (3.90 US $) and well known brands cost 29 (5.10 US$) Danish Kroner.

Duty free will be cheaper - my mom bought a carton for 120 Danish Kroner (21 US$) on a special offer.

And cigarettes in Denmark are a lot cheaper than in UK (in contrast to what the first answerer wrote).

Cigarettes are fairly cheap, like the lady above me said. Everything else is just horribly and ridiculously expensive. The only thing you don't have to worry about is adding tax to stuff, cause taxes are already calculated into the price when you buy something. So if the price tag says 35 kroners that's what you'll pay. Not like in the USA where it says $19.95 and you end up paying $21.50.

Everything in Denmark is painfully expensive. You should read the travel book "Neither Here Nor There" by Bill Bryson. (His most famous book being "Notes From A Small Island").

In it he was shocked at how expensive Denmark was. So was I. We had to eat using a calor gas stove for cheap supermarket tinned beans and sausages in order to survive for last 4 days of our trip in Denmark. Get your smokes before you leave UK or wherever imo.
