I was in Europe and I could not believe how more than half of all the songs on the radio were American songs.
Is this the case in UK?
why? is it really popular there?

No, there are mostly crap songs on the UK radio.

Depends on the radio station! Of course American songs are not banned in the UK or elsewhere in Europe.

It's probably like half and half..

Most of the US songs ARE popular.... but we do have some pretty good UK bands

We like good music - regardless of its national source. However there is still a fair share of English music played on most radio stations, as well as US music.

i think there is a pretty good mix. but regarding standards and jazz we have nobody to compete with likes of satchmo, dorsey, sinatra,and so on.
