Josh Heupel, Ken Dorsey, Chris Weinke, Gino Toretta.....
They all won national championships with flying colors and where are they now?
Leak is a shrimp. Career backup is an optimistic goal.

Its strange that the two quarterbacks who played for the National Championship arent even close to being first rounders in the NFL draft. The only way that's gonna change is if they both catch a 5-inch growth spurth between now and April. Personally I think its crap to downplay a QB because of his height, but thats how it is. As far as Leak, hes a slightly above average QB. He wasn't even the best QB on his team, so I expect him to be a 3rd rounder. As for Troy Smith, he has the height thing agaisnt him, the growing trend of QB's switching positions (Brad Smith, Michael Robinson, Reggie McNeal, Matt Jones), and the fact he has the Heisman curse. Gino Torretta, Andre Ware, Jason White, and Eric Crouch are Heisman winning QB's. Enough said. Chris Leak should be glad he doesn't have THAT to deal with. He's a 3rd rounder at best but i wouldnt be suprised if he falls to day two.

Remember Jason White? Played in 2 national championships, won a Heisman, in the hunt the next year. Didn't even make a team the next year. Garbage. Just like Chris Leak. He'll get drafted, but just because he was the QB for the national champ doesn't mean he'll be any good on the next level.

well actually his team won the nat'l championship, don't give him all the credit. He's not great. He didn't even play the whole game. Plus, just because his team wins the NC doesn't mean he automatically does well at the NFL combine and everyone is shitting themselves to get him. By the way, he sucked at the senior bowl or north-south game or whatever he played in. Quarterbacks aren't the only players in the game.

While I am a Gators fan, Chris Leak was merely an average qb. He know the game, but he doesn't have the skill to make it as a NFL qb.
He will make an excellent coach in the near future. He knows football like nobody's business.

Florida has a recent history of producing quality COLLEGE quarterbacks and none have been that successful in the NFL. As for Leak, he was surrounded by great players and I think he was the a quarterback in the right place at the right time.

I like Leak, He's just too short for the NFL though I would love to see him beat the odds and become an NFL starter

He is too small for the pundits to pick as an NFL draftee. He may go in the last round or he may have to become a free agent. He and Troy Smith are considered too small for QB's on the big fields.

He is 5-11, and playing QB by Committee in college, and overall he isn't really that skilled, he set all those records because the played 4 seasons with the team. He will not do anything in the NFL, 3rd String at best. He isn't in the top 25 in Rookie QB's and will go undrafted.
