I have two bettas. Lobo Joseph, my oldest betta, and Gill Yakov, my baby betta. Is it possible that my oldest betta can get jealous of my youngest betta?

Well, When I play with my baby fish, he looks at me, then swims away and hides under his lillypad. But when I go to play with him, he like... wags his tail and stuff.

Maybe it's my maternal instincts kicking in, but before I got the other fish, Lobo was spoiled like crap...

No. Fish don't have emotions like people do. Anthropomorphism is the term for assigning human emotions to animals and tht's something most any pet owner does, myself included, but to be honest fish don't really have emotions.

No, your older betta isn't "jealous" of your younger one from that jealous point of view that humans assign to it, but these reactions you're seeing could be signs of attempts to assert dominance over the younger one by virtue of the facts that it is not only the older one, but also the original one. Especially if they are both males. If they are both males, in fact, you could have some real issues eventually because of this need to dominate. If they are both males and this happens on what appears to be a dangerous level, you will probably need to separate them.

I don't think fish have moods.

This is what I think runs through their brains most of the times:

Hungry
Full
Scared
Tired
Sexual Attraction
Sick

no, he just needs a change of scenery, but maybe you should stop trying to play with him
