You will have to determine if you have spark to the spark plugs. Pull off a wire and put something like a screwdriver into the end of the boot. Lay it close to something metal on the engine and have someone crank the engine. Look for spark jumping to the metal from the plug wire. But don't hold the plug wire while this is going on because it can shock the heck out of you!
If you have spark then you need to check to see if you have fuel pressure.
This is more difficult to do. You can listen at the rear of the car for the fuel pump running while someone else turns the key on. The pump should run for about 2 seconds after the key is turned on. Generally,if the pump can be heard running, and there is fuel in the tank, you should have fuel pressure. This is not a hard and fast rule, but most of the time it will be true.
It could be a timing chain issue. Most of the time a timing chain that has broken will cause the engine to turn over in a strange way. It will either sound like it is turning over very fast,or it will turn over unevenly. Like it is speeding up and slowing down.
Hope these suggestions help.
Percentage wise, these problems are most often fuel pump related.

Determine if you have the three requirements for combustion. Air, fuel, and spark. It could be any of the three. Dirty air filter...worn plugs, cap rotor, etc (tuneup)...bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter....

Once you verify all these are in play, it SHOULD turn over.
