When I worked in retail I was always stereotyped as a "female who can't possibly know anything about" whatever electronics equipment I was selling. Some people would rather wait for when "the guy" was working again the next day.

Yes. I went to this Pharmacy once where I'm a usual customer. This Lady from the Pharmacy apparently thought I came in to steal. So as soon as I walked in, she started following me around to every single isle. Like I said, I've bought stuff there on more than one occasion so I don't really know what her problem was. She probably thinks all Hispanics and Blacks are thieves. Well, I let her follow me around all she wanted. I grabbed a few things I was going to purchase then laid it all on the counter for her to put back. I left very upset and never purchased anything else from there ever again. :(

OH yeah. I'm over 20, unmarried, no children, and haven't slept with every man in town. Half the freakin town thinks I'm gay.. At one point it was so bad that I made up a t-shirt that said "I'm not gay, but thanks for fantasizing!" and wore it around town a few times. Got a few laughs on that one, heh.

Then there's the redhead (must have a temper) paired up with being a preacher's kid (must have been wild) that I've heard a million times.

And of course, you can't work in the farm/ranch industry without getting a LOT of good ole boys who think women are clueless, and who insist on talking to my non existant husband. I've had buyers go past me and straight to my boyfriend, who immediately forgets how to speak English beyond "no saavy"... and yet they still try to deal with him instead of me. Feh.

Everyone is stereotyped. The first three things we notice about another person is size, sex, and then race. What you think about that is up to you.

Yes, sigh. I'm so tired of being stereotyped as the "distinguished, wealthy, attractive, successful man of all the women's dreams". I mean I'm great but it does become tiresome to be so admired......

I used to live in a primarily black populated area. Everyone thought just because I'm white and lived on my own I was rich. People tried to break into my place all the time. If it weren't for my dogs, they would have.

yes, when I was blonde, people were very mean to me in stores when my autistic son had fits. Now that I'm my natural brunette color again, my son has fits and people offer me help.

When I was 100 lbs bigger, people assumed that I was wanting to buy a bucket of chicken or entire pizza for myself when I was getting take-out for my family.

When I was a red head (for a year), men assumed I was a sl*t.
