hmm..did you have negative preconceptions about hypnosis before undergoing the hypnotherapy, because it seems like it did not really ruin your life (i don't think it even can) but that rather you THINK it ruined your life, and, just like with many disorders, if you think you are undergoing something, then you are
basically what i'm saying is that you thought something bad would result from hypnotherapy and following the hypnosis you looked for the bad in things to confirm your preconceptions

If you're familiar with hypnosis, then you've no doubt heard of Master Hypnotist Steve G. Jones. His book, "Ultimate Conversational Hypnosis" has been voted as the best hypnosis course ever made. The book is also available in electronic format at: http://www.hypnosistocontrol.net
If you want to get an edge in everyday communication and lead other people towards your goals this is a must read.

That is the problem - The people who practice it should already be licenses as a councilor at the very least. Words are important and the way the hypnotherapist phrased something (if that is all the problem is and I will assume they were not trying to cause one) does not set well with you. Every word they speak can have an impact even if it is to someone else who enters the room.

Hypnotherapy is gaining control of one's thoughts.
You let this so called therapist have control and God knows what he/she put into your head but now (as always) YOU have the control over what you think and how you behave.
What you need to try is a little SELF hypnosis and get control of yourself.

I had the same problem after going to try and stop smoking, not as bad as you have had but I recognize the symptoms. In the end I had to seek out a reputable hypnotherapist to undo what had been done by the quack one I saw first time. It cost me a lot of money but it was worth it. In the end everything got back to normal but it was a bit scary at the time. I wrote to Paul McKenna via his web site and he put me on to someone to help me. Good luck!

Yea i go thru periods of social anxiety. sometimes i'm the most confident person in the room, and sometimes i become really shy and quiet. But its more of a mental thing than physical. i see people, who are so confident about their looks, their personalities and i ask myself why i hate myself so much. Then i gather some courage and i become confident. The only way out is to find out more about yourself, introspect, meditate, talk to urself (in ur head) and try to love yourself. Don't fall for the fast and easy way out that meds offer coz thats only temporary and it can badly effect your selfesteem and your health in the long run. been there done that. good luck!
