My cup has a hole in it so it is all of the above.

I believe that if you put your cup under a tap, it can become full. It's all about individual will.

I agree with the first answerer, it is all about individual will. Your cup can spring a leak, it can be fixed, it can become full and then empty again. At the beginning of our lives I believe the cup is half empty. When we see it as half full we can progress. But as long as we continue to see it as half empty it will only lose water. We must see it as half full and wish to fill it to the brim, and let it overflow into other's cups, meaning we help others WHEN they need it, not ALL THE TIME.

I have always heard that:
An "optimist" sees their cup as "half full"
A "pessimist" sees their cup as "half empty"
I guess I'm a pessimist because I panic when my refrigerator, freezer or pantry gets anywhere near empty. Thanks be to God that I have been able to keep them all full.
I have always thought it would be nice to see my cup as "half full", but that is not the way it will ever be for me. I have to admit though that there have been times in my life that I felt like my "cup runneth over". At those times in my life I felt like everything was perfect.

When the cup looks half full, turn it over and you'll find it was the top half because the bottom half will be empty.

It applies to everyone at different times. You have to analyze your situation and tilt the cup to coordinate with your feelings.

It is easier to survive difficult situations if your view your cup as half full as everyone, if they look deep enough, has some good in their lives which makes the emptiness easier to accept.

To turn the cup over and stand upon it to see just a bit further than most is a philosophical challenge.

My view of the cup depends on what is in it.

Glory be and behold, whatever is done from love always occurs beyond good and evil. while considering that, for what purpose humanity is there should not even concern us: why you are there, that you should ask yourself: and if you have no ready answer, then set for yourself goals, high and noble goals, and perish in pursuit of them! i know of no better life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and the impossible ... lest ye shall not forget, i knew it! i knew it! well, not 'knew it' in the sense of having the slightest idea, but i knew there was something i didn't know
