It is Jesus he can do anything

My personal guess is that He probably enjoyed swimming too.
Since you are asking for opinions on this subject, here is what I think. The Bible was an oriental book, written by orientals, in a now extinct oriental language.
There are expressions in the orient that are incomprehensible to a logical western mind, when they are translated "literally".
For example: to say that "a job is easy to do", it is said "it is drinking water".
Imagine someone hearing this expression two thousand years later, and having no idea about the original language which probably is dead by now, and trying to figure out how can "drinking water" be related to "how easy is a certain thing to do".

The fact that Jesus "walked on water" could very well have been, at that time, an expression meaning that "he overcame difficulties". Water was always a barrier that made communications difficult in those days, and hard to overcome.

To give too much importance to an expression that could, in the past, very well have meant something else is bound to generate controversy.

I think he knew how to swim, but would rather walk on the water.

If he could walk on water, why would he want to swim?

Its a myth and a metaphor for a helper like the shepards tale. To take it seriously is to miss the point.
