If they take a QB (and this is a big if) they'll probably take Russell. Everyone thinks Russell is amazing, but I am not so sure. I have seen games of his where he didn't look like the #1 overall pick. I think Quinn would be the better QB. He played at ND and there is a lot of pressure there, especially at QB. He would be able to handle the Cal pressure. Quinn would also be better because they might be able to move down and still get him. OL is not a good pick for them because Robert Gallery doesn't seem that great.

They are going to take russell. Al Davis just loves Guys that atheletic. So Russell has the size speed and power the davis just loves so Russell is gonna be the pick. Quinn is good and is the more ready nfl QB but Russell has more potential. Also When asked Pete Carroll said that Lane Kiffen would most like pick russell over Quinn. So unless Oakland trades out of the #1 spot they will be taking Russell. There is possibility they take Joe thomas or calvin Johnson, but thats only if they trade Moss and porter away, and get another young qb in return. Even if the raiders sign a veteran Like warner, which would be the worst idea ever putting that statue behind the worst oline ever, Garcia, doesnt fit the long ball style davis loves, or plummer none of those guys are long term solutions, so they still need a young qb to groom.

I believe they should take Quinn also. Quinn had to endure the Willingham era in Notre Dame and still progressed under Weis. He has experience in a pro style offense and is a mechanically sound rookie QB.

Everybody is saying that Russell is bigger and stronger, but that would not fit Lane Kiffin's offense. He has hired Greg Knapp who employs a west coast style of offense. That offense requires an accurate, decisive passer who is somewhat mobile. It does not need a big arm. Russell might feel restricted or try to overthrow his targets. A power arm in a west coast offense does not generally make a good pair, just look at Michael Vick.

Also, look at Lane Kiffin's offenses at USC. Matt Leinart certainly was not a powerhouse QB but he could make the reads and the decisions and those offenses were pretty good. Quinn has a better arm than Leinart and I think he would be ideal for a that type of offense. This decision needs to come down to who would be a better fit for that particular team, not overall.

Besides, Russell showed up already nine pounds over his playing weight which might deter some scouts showing that he has a lack of commitment. Remember how they treated Len Dale White last year.

They will take JaMarcus Russell. C'mon people, get over the Quinn wet dreams! He isn't that great! JaMarcus Russell is becoming the next Vince Young! JaMarcus Russell is a good quarterback, no doubt. JaMarcus Russell is 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds. There is nothing on the football field JaMarcus Russell is not capable of if he is motivated. He has speed and passing skills! While Quinn is already proving that he doesn't want to be the #1 overall by refusing to work out at the combine. Don't get me wrong he is "alright", but lets not over rate him. Quinn's real flaw that costs him is his lack of ability to form successful decisions. He riffles passes that end up over throwing the receivers.

Neither. They will get there QB in free agency. Most likely an old tymer to help develop Walters and come off the bench from time to time. Probably Jeff Garcia, Kurt Warner or Brad Johnson. You know how Al likes the vets. I think they will trade there pick, but if they do keep it, it'll probably be Calvin Johnson. It doesn't matter which QB they get if he has no one to throw the ball to. Did you see Alex Smith's first year? The rest of there picks should be on the O-Line. Or if they are getting a QB, Drew Stanton should be around in the 2nd round. But I doubt they will take him.

they will take russell, and he is the better QB because of his arm strength, accuracy, and mobility...quinn is weaker than russell in all three of those areas, the only advantage quinn has is decision making because russell makes some terrible decisions with the ball which sometimes result in interceptions and sometimes in spectacular completions, but in the nfl those will be picked off every time

Russell has the size which is more of a manning and vince young, yet Quinn has more of a classic style, but I believe that the raiders will take Russell due to his size

I fully agree with you...The Raiders should take Quinn...He is the prototypical pro style QB...and THE QB of THE highest profile team in college football...but, the media is saying its going to be Russell...

Qb's are always such a crapshoot and this Johnson kid looks like a can't miss. I'd go with Johnson and stick with Walter at QB, but if I had to choose quinn or russel I'd go with russel. The arm on that kid!

If they take one of the two, they will take Quinn.
He is more of a pocket QB, and that is what is preferred in the pros.
Russel showed up for the combine at almost 270 lbs.
He is way out of shape and gained 20 lbs since the season ended.
That did not impress the scouts.
If they pick one of them, it will be Quinn.
