Should i get a lip piercing?

Question

so many people are saying i should get it done. im 13. my parents of course say no. how can i convince them?
Im no poser, im not HxC, im Straight edge xxx
Most people say i look 15.
i've read a lot of things and stuff about how to care for it, and where to get it done. My parents say im too mature and responsible and that i shouldnt be that good.

so, how do i convince my mother? fake stud?

none of my friends have one, i just really like em'.

I'm sorry but I don't think you should get one, not when your so young. My parents wouldn't let me do anything until I was 18. Why don't you try and get a fake one for now? Persoanlly I think they look disgusting.

I've had quite a few piercings and belive me although they may look cute they definitely can be a pain. I've wanted to get my lip done in the past as well but after careful consideration I decided not to. Getting a job is more difficult and many places do not allow you to have facial piercings either. When a piercing gets infected it can be unbelievably painful and leave permanent scarring, a scary thing for a lip piercing. Piercings are very common and have been accepted into the societal norm. My advise would be to get something else pierced first such as your bellybutton so you get used to having a piercing (other than your ears) first. Then once you prove that you can be responsible with that then maybe a facial piercing will be an option with your parents. A piercing can be a huge decision and a big responsibility to care for, if you are getting one make sure you do it for yourself not because other people are saying you should get it done.

Wait until your 18 and can get it done without your parents permission. This is probably just a phase. But, if in 5 years you still want it, then go ahead and do it. If you somehow convince your parents to sign and pay for it now, you'll probably end up regretting it later.

Of course you should do it to impress your friends, likewise with driving drunk and without a license, smoking drugs, and doing illicit things on your webcam.......


But should you.....no. Your lip thing will not go away when you interview for college, or if you are not that ambitious, Burger King...
Maybe some construction site that hires illegal immigrants will find you worthy, so good luck to you.....

I don't find it attractive, by the way, I like clean cut, maybe one tattoo, but that's if he's lucky....

btw....they do hurt and build up a lot of bacteria and other junk you have to clean a lot to stay sterile. I hope you are not a regular guy if you want to get that done, most find success getting out of bed.....

Quick answer is, no, don't do it. A pierced lip at any age is unattractive. What do YOU like about it? It won't make you look older, hotter, or hipper. It also does not mark your individuality if everyone else is doing it. Find a less stridently rebellious and more personal way to express the inner you.

No. Its so lame dude. In about 3-4 years you're going to grow up and learn that having good friends, a good woman, good family, and a good job are what is truly important. Guess what? I would never want to date some girl with a big rod through her lip. I also would NEVER hire some pansy with a lip ring. Think about it, its a really gay thing to do.

I think they make people look really stupid. Usually people with faciel piercings are very overweight, ugly, or both, and they seem to think it will make them look better. It just makes them look like fat ugly people with holes in their faces.
When I am interviewing people to hire, I never hire people- male or female- with facial piercings. They always seem insecure and to have issues with self-esteem, and the clients in my health-care line of work need confident, reassuring people.
I have never yet met an executive, a manager or anyone with a well-paying job who had facial piercings of any kind. I guess rock star and sports star maybe but your odds of being either are really really slim.
My parents stopped shopping at a store because the check-out girl had facial piercings- it grossed them out.
The fact that you are seriously considering this because OTHER PEOPLE are pressuring you to do it shows how insecure you are, and your parents are right. It will make you look like a gansta wannabe. Do you want to go to college? You will be facing interviews and competeing with lots of other people. It may make a difference.
Listen to Mom and Dad and respect their wishes.

i dont like lip piercings personally, but since u are 13 u should listen to ur parents, or dont wear it in front of them, i got a lip piercing and i had to take it out since it was boterhing me soooo much, like when i was eating it was like right there, but its really personal choice. if u really want one show ur mom how responsible u are and that u rlly are mature. and noe how to handle things on ur own. but personally they bother me, not to see people wear it but when i had it it jus irritated me so finally i had it taken out, now i have a small hole in my lip, not very pretty if u ask me!

U can't. They know more than you. Besides it gross and stupid. If you read the Bible. You would that it talks about piecing and tatoos. This is the temple which the Lord lives in. Take care of your temple. That u be your body.

come home with it in your lip is the only sure way! most parents don't like it but will in most cases not ground you too long if you go out and get it anyway! be sure to get a good stud or ring 14c at least you don't want junk in ya lip!!!!
