I just checked all the questions I've anwered and 90% of them are still open and they were all answered many times over correctly, people don't seem to understand that rating and choosing the best answers allows those answering to give unlimited answers and help more people do you all notice this too? and why don't they?

It costs you 5 points to ask a question, but if it's voted as "No Best Answer", you get your 5 points back. Some people might not choose a best answer in the hopes that it will be voted as a no best answer and they can get their points back.

Others just aren't familiar with the way that Yahoo! Answers works, and once their question is satisfied, they shut off the computer and forget about it.

I've noticed it, too. It's a little irritating, especially when I can see that mine is the only answer that makes sense, and no one makes it a best answer. It's especially annoying when you put a lot of thought and time into your answer. But oh well, it happens.

Yes, I have noticed that several of mine go into voting. I have answered all of my questions but one, and that was simply because I couldn't choose a best answer. Not only do I prefer to get the 3 points for choosing my own best answer, but I feel that I owe it to those who chose to answer my question. It's every person's choice, but I like it when the questioner chooses my answer because I like their feedback.

Some people are not at the levels where they can choose a best answer.

yep, i've noticed that too...but a lot of people still do that. But idk why they dont do that, sorry but idk what else to say.......maybe they're just never online for long enough to choose one or they ask a question and never check the answers?

Maybe for the same reason they don't use their search engine to get information.......
